Having a manual driving licence opens the door to greater job opportunities! By learning to drive in a manual vehicle, you give yourself a big advantage for future jobs that require the ability to drive a wide range of vehicles. This could include many vans, or fleet vehicles for large companies. These vehicles are most likely to be manual transmission.

Cheaper maintenance –
With all of the added machinery that goes into the automatic transmission, it can end up costing you a lot of money just to keep it running properly. Manual transmission cars require very little maintenance, and generally maintenance and repairs end up being significantly less costly.
Be warned, however, because one thing that a manual has that the automatic doesn’t have to worry about is the clutch, and if that thing quits on you, then you could be in trouble.

Full unrestricted driving license –
If you want the flexibility to drive either automatic or manual cars in the future, you will need to take a manual driving test as you will be able to drive both manual or automatic cars as long as you pass your driving test in a manual car. If you pass your driving test in an automatic car you are limited to driving only automatic vehicles.

At the same time, they are built to respond to conditions as they are encountered, which doesn’t allow for drivers to anticipate an oncoming condition. Manual transmissions give drivers greater control over the vehicle.

Cars with manual gearboxes are generally cheaper to buy, maintain, repair and insure than automatics. Some drivers think manual gearboxes are more fun to drive than automatics. If you learn to drive in a manual, you are also qualified to drive an automatic.
