Lesson Booking Terms and Conditions

It is agreed that the instructor shall make his/her services as a GTD Driving School Instructor available to the pupil for the sole purpose of giving the pupil driving tuition at the rate per lesson from time to time agreed. The driving lesson will start and finish at the pupils pickup address unless agreed beforehand. All matters relating to the timing, location, duration of individual lessons should be subject to an agreement between the instructor and the pupil.

The instructor shall have the right to substitute another GTD Driving School instructor to the purposes of giving all or any of the lessons if the instructor is not available for any reason whatsoever. In the event that the instructor is unable to substitute another GTD Driving School instructor for specific appointment or in the event of a mechanical breakdown or any other cause, the instructor reserves the right to rearrange the lesson to a time convenient for both parties. GTD driving school cannot be held responsible for lesson cancellations due to mechanical breakdown.

GTD driving school reserves the right to alter, change the lesson prices and special offers at any time with no less than 7 days notice. The lesson fees shall be paid in advance for each lesson. We take prepayment (lesson in advance) for the following lesson. The instructor will require a payment by bank transfer before booking the first lesson and at the end of lesson should the student wish to book a following lesson the student will have to pay for the lesson at the time of booking. On the first lesson the pupil must produce a valid driving/provisional license. When booking any driving lessons the pupil should disclose any physical or neuro disabilities which could effect their ability to learn or drive. The pupil is required to read a standard number plate at a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet). Mobile phones are to be turned off or put on silent to stop causing any distractions. The pupil needs to be aware that it is illegal to operate a phone whilst driving and it is also illegal to drive whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

If the pupil attempts to take a lesson while under any of the conditions above, then the instructor has the right to stop the lesson and the full lesson rate will be charged. Students will be expected to behave in a respectful manner. It is the students responsibility to arrive at their lesson on time. If a student arrives late, the instructor may not be able to give them back the lesson time missed. Your instructor will be responsible for arriving at your pickup point on time, in any rare case they are unable to be punctual. The lesson time lost will be added onto the end of your lesson or if this is not convenient the instructor will add it onto future lessons. GTD driving school instructors cannot be held accountable for any time delays caused by traffic.

If the pupil fails to give the instructor a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to cancelling a lesson the pupil shall be liable for the lesson fee in respect of such lesson. If the pupil fails to give the instructor a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to altering the time or date of lesson, the instructor will try to accommodate the pupil in their diary for that week should they have the availability.  If the instructor is unable to accommodate the pupil in their diary for that week the pupil shall be liable for the lesson fee in respect of such lesson. The pupil agrees that he/she is duly licensed to drive the tuition vehicle.

All contracts are between the instructor and the pupil.  GTD driving school acts as an advertising agent of the driving instructor and cannot be deemed to have any liability to the student driver in any matter which is subject to the contract between the driving instructor and the student. The instructor reserves the right to withdraw the use of their vehicle for any driving test, if in their professional opinion, the pupil does not meet the current test standard. If any pupil has their test booked and they do not take regular lessons weekly or fortnightly and the instructor in their professional opinion believe that the pupil does not meet the current test standard then the instructor reserves the right to withdraw their vehicle for any driving test.

All block/intensive course bookings and gift vouchers are non transferable or refundable in whole or part, as you are purchasing a prearranged amount of hours and the instructor has designated there time to allow for this. If you decide that you no longer wish to continue, a refund is not available. Block booking lessons should be no longer than 14 days apart. GTD driving school accepts no responsibility for any monies paid in advance to an instructor for driving lessons. Failure to pay for any lessons will result in a £65 administration fee and recovery of monies or any additional costs as issued by the small claims court.

A gift voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Covid Terms And Conditions

Covid-19 symptoms include:

A high temperature (38C or above). A new, continuous dry cough. Unexplained loss or change to your (or their) sense of smell or taste.

If lessons are cancelled for the above reasons and less than 48 hours notice is given, you will be asked to provide confirmation after your COVID-19 test, we will need to see copy of your test results (positive, negative or unclear). Otherwise you will be charged for lesson(s). If you are told to self isolate and less than 48 hours notice is given, you will need to provide confirmation of your self isolation to your instructor otherwise you will be charged for your lesson(s).
